Montarea coolerului este destul de anevoioasa in sensul ca trebuie scoasa placa de baza din carcasa. Sistemul de prindere este pe baza de suruburi (si piulite), fiind mai sigur decat solutia clasica Intel bazata pe cleme de plastic. In pachet sunt livrate adaptoarele necesare pentru montarea pe socluri LGA775 (Intel) cat si 754/939/AM2/AM2+ (AMD), un manual de instructiuni si un tub cu pasta termoconductoare.
Pentru testarea performantelor lui Cooler Master Hyper 212, cei de la Techarp.com au folosit pentru comparatie alte 2 coolere: Intel stock (livrat cu procesorul Intel Core 2 Duo 6550) si Scythe Katana 2. Cooler Master Hyper 212 a fost testat folosind atat un ventilator de 120mm cat si doua ventilatoare de 120mm.
Platforma de testare a fost compusa din: procesor Intel Core 2 Duo 6550 (2.33 GHz , 1333 MHz FSB, 4MB L2 cache) overclock-at la 2.8 GHz, placa de baza Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6, memorii OCZ Reaper X PC8000 si placa video Gainward Bliss 9600 GT.
La viteza stock a procesorului si folosind un singur ventilator de 120mm, CoolerMaster Hyper212 a avut aceleasi performante ca si Scythe Katana 2, in full-load procesorul atingand o temperatura de 44 grade C. Folosind doua ventilatoare de 120mm pentru Hyper212, temperatura in full-load a scazut cu 5 grade C, ajungand la 39 grade C; Cooler Master Hyper 212 ofera o racire mult mai buna decat Scythe Katana 2 si decat coolerul Intel stock (cu care s-au inregistrat 47 grade C in full load).
Folosind procesorul overclockat, Cooler Master Hyper 212 se claseaza iarasi primul dintre cei trei competitori, temperaturile in full-load fiind de 47 grade C (folosind un singur ventilator de 120mm), respectiv 43 grade C (folosind doua ventilatoare de 120mm).
Cooler Master Hyper 212 da dovada de performante foarte bune, iar daca luam in considerare pretul de achizitie foarte bun si zgomotul de functionare redus (chiar si cu 2 ventilatoare), acesta devine o investitie foarte buna.
