Biostar a lansat noua placa de baza T-Power X58, dedicata viitoarelor procesoare Intel Core i7 pe socket LGA1366.

Biostar T-Power X58

Biostar T-Power X58 are un design simplu si dispune de 12 faze pentru alimentarea procesorului. Conectorii sunt cei deja standard pentru platforma Bloomfield: 6 sloturi DDR3 1333/1600/2000, 3x PCI-E 16x (ce suporta configuratii Nvidia SLI si ATI CrossFireX), 6x SATA, 2x eSATA, 1x IDE. T-Power X58 dispune de un sistem de racire bazat pe heatpipe-uri (ce leaga radiatoarele pasive de pe southbridge, northbridge si VRM), butoane power/reset integrate si un display LED POST (2-digit). De asemenea Biostar T-Power X58 dispune de sunet integrat 7.1, 2 porturi LAN 10/100/1000 (Gbit) si de 2 porturi FireWire.

Circula zvonuri cum ca NVIDIA ar renunta la a fabrica chipset-uri pentru placi de baza, ceea ce mi se pare foarte normal privind la performantele noilor nForce 750i si nForce 780i ... mult sub asteptari (si mult sub chipset-urile Intel P45).

Este posibil ca divizia responsabila de proiectarea chipset-urilor pentru placi de baza sa se uneasca cu cea responsabila de nuclee grafice. Beneficiul pentru utilizatorul casnic ar putea fi mai mult decat satisfacator: suportul pentru configuratii SLI indiferent de placa de baza!

Punctul critic pentru NVIDIA va anularea implementarii de catre producatorii de placi de baza a chip-ului nForce 200 (BR04), care activeaza suportul pentru tehnologia SLI pe platformele Intel X58.
