Creative a lansat un nou driver cu suport Windows Vista pentru placile de sunet X-FI. In mod normal, lansarea unui driver nou nu este un lucru iesit din comun, dar in cazul celor de la Creative poate fi considerat un eveniment de exceptie.

Intotdeauna lansarea unui nou driver presupune noi facilitati/functii, dar acest lucru nu este valabil si in cazul de fata. Driverul 2.18.0004 pentru placile de sunet Creative X-FI cu suport Windows Vista vine sa fixeze suportul hardware al functiilor de decodare Dolby Digital, DTS si DVD-Audio care existau pentru Windows XP de mai bine de 2 ani.

Pentru posesorii de placi de sunet Creative X-Fi driverele pentru Windows Vista 32/64-bit pot fi descarcate direct de pe site-ul producatorului urmarind acest link.

Quad SLI nu functioneaza sub Windows XP

Daca doriti sa folositi doua placi 9800 GX2 in mod Quad SLI ar fi bine sa stiti ca nu o veti putea face sub Windows XP. Nvidia a specificat clar ca driverul pentru Quad SLI functioneaza doar sub Windows Vista (atat pe Vista 32 bit cat si pe Vista 64 bit). Ultimul driver Nvidia pentru Windows XP, Forceware 174.53, nu are suport pentru Quad SLI asa ca gamerii inraiti vor fi nevoiti sa migreze la Windows Vista pentru a putea folosi configuratii Quad SLI, cu toate ca se stie ca sub Vista jocurile ruleaza putin mai greu.
