80 PLUS Certified and Highly Efficient

While most computer power supplies pinnacle at 80% efficiency, the BFG ES Series is typically 80% to 85% efficient, which means more power drawn from the outlet is converted to DC power for your computer than many of the other units on the market. In order to achieve certification, the 80 PLUS performance specification requires power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater.

Frequency Conversion Technology

The ES-800 can modulate its operating frequency and emulate a smaller PSU as needed. So while most power supplies are not very efficient at loads less than 20% of their total capability, the ES-800 is 80% efficient at loads as low as 10%.

BFG Thermal Control Technology

During regular operation, the fan slows down to reduce unnecessary noise. Furthermore, the 138MM ball bearing fan in the ES-800 has a start up voltage of only 3V, nearly half of most power supply fans on the market. This allows the fan to spin slower than 700 RPM at lower loads.
