Computex 2008: La cateva ore de la lansarea oficiala a platformei AMD Puma, divizia Toshiba Digital Products a anuntat ca va fi primul producator care va implementa noua tehnologie Turion X2 Ultra in toata gama actuala de laptop-uri Satellite.
Sase modele din gama de notebook-uri Satellite vor fi dotate cu procesoare AMD Athlon Dual Core QL, Turion Dual Core RM si Turion Ultra ZM.: Satellite P300D, Satellite A300D, Satellite M300D, Satellite U400D, Satellite L300D si Satellite L350D.
Aceste noi notebook-uri Toshiba Satellite vor fi disponibile spre vanzare incepand cu vara aceasta.

Aceasta solutie grafica externa se bazeaza pe tehnologia PCI Express 2.0 si promite performante video de top entuziastilor posesori de notebook-uri.
Aceasta solutie inovatoare asigura o latime de banda de 4GB/s (8GB/s in ambele directii), eliminand bottleneck-urile placilor video externe anterioare. ATI XGP este optimizata pentru noile platforme portabile cu procesoare AMD Turion X2 Ultra, include suport pentru tehnologia ATI CrossFireX si este bazata pe noile chipset-uri grafice din seria ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800.

ATI XGP Technology is contained in an external chassis connected to the notebook via a specially designed self-latching, easy-connecting PCIe 2.0 cable from Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Limited, a leading provider of electronic devices and connectors. ASUS va lansa mai multe produse noi la Computex 2008, dar unul dintre aceste produse merita o atentie deosebita. Numita ASUS EN9600GT Matrix, aceasta placa video va fi un 9600 GT tunat si echipat cu un cooler hibrid foarte special.
Cooler-ul dual-slot al acestei placi video este compus dintr-un radiator masiv din aluminiu cu heatpipe-uri si dintr-un ventilator care va incepe sa functioneze doar cand sunt rulate aplicatii 3D sau cand temperatura placii va creste considerabil.
Placa vine cu un PCB de culoare neagra, cate un port DVI si HDMI si o iesire audio optica. Vitezele de functionare nu sunt inca cunoscute, dar ASUS EN9600GT Matrix este foarte probabil sa fie overclock-ata avand in vedere dimensiunile mari ale coolerului si sticker-ul "Republic of Gamers" (ROG) aplicat pe ventilator. Mai multe detalii despre aceasta placa video vor fi disponibile in cadrul expozitiei Computex 2008.
